We believe in the potential of all children and the power of healthy parent-child relationships to break the cycles of poverty and create long-term positive outcomes for children.

With offices located in Farmington Hills MI, Inskter MI and Southfield MI, Midwest Resource Development Agency is one of Michigans leading private non-profit agencies providing its services throughout metropolitan Detroit. We specialize in providing educational and economical resource assistance to youths, adults and families. Furthermore, we also extend our services to the community by providing after school programs, youth (male & female) mentoring programs and assistance in acquiring affordable housing (MRDA & Inkster Housing Partnership).
Our staff takes pride and satifaction knowing that our efforts to help the community is a never ending cylce. Somewhere and at anytime, there are hands lifting the spirit of someone that is in need of a helping hand. We are here to make sure that regardless of race, sex age or color, our time is dedicated towards the care and assistance of others.

Midwest Resource Development Agency is proposing a new and exciting after school and Summer Program that will give the children of Inkster Public Housing a safe, wholesome and stimulating place to spend their time after school and during the summer months. Programming helps children have more confidence, do better in school and be better equipped to make positive life choices while becoming more productive citizens in our community. Midwest RDA will cover in the program projects that develop reading, writing, communication skills and outdoor fun. Activities will include:
• Educational field trips
• Gardening and nutrition
• Library expos/Surprise Reader
• Creative arts and crafts
• Community service projects
• Prevention education
• Recreational activities
• Academic enrichment
-Invictus
Invictus is our mentoring program for young at risk male and female youths. Our highly trained staff is dedicated to supporting the development of all children. Our mentors and support staff use proven methodologies and a highly effective curriculum to help children grow academically, socially, and physically. We regularly participate in professional development in order to improve our skills and offer a better learning experience for the children.
-Mind Above Matter Tutoring Program
Education is the key to success! We here at Midwest Resource Development Agency understand this very important neccessity. There are many important tools needed for an sufficient education. Unfortunately, many youths and adults are underpriveledged and cannot recieve the proper education they deserve. Therefore many students are left with the fate of dropping out of high school and not pursuing an higher education. This may not be the students fault and we understand the harsh economical times can financially tamper with an educational institutions educational tools. Our mission is to make sure that all students (youth-adults) instill the ededucation that is provided for them. We emphasis education vs intimidation! The mind of a student should be strong and the spirit motivated for success.
-Semi-Independent Living (Ages 15-20)
Our Semi-Independent Living Program offers young adults the opportunity of assisted transitioning from adolescent to adulthood. For any young adults making the move from foster care or any other type of structure care, we offer a bright light for a successful transition from adolescent to self-relient adulthood.

Midwest is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Inkster Public Housing. Together we are reaching out to our future generation. This partnership has allowed us to develop programs and events that will assist in developing our young males into successful adults. Inkster Public Housing has so graciously provided their community center to sponsor our upcoming events for the youth. We wholeheartedly welcome this partnership because our youth deserve the very best their community has to offer.

We are also extremely proud to announce our partnership with Colin Powell's organization www.americaspromise.org . Given our organization’s geographic reach, we are pleased that Midwest Resource Development Agency has been given a position as a State and Local Partner with the Alliance. Together, we are ensuring our children are ready for college, work and life. We share in their goal of cutting the dropout rate in half by 2018.We are very happy to be part of the Alliance.

Gleaners Community Food Bank and Midwest Resource Development Agency has joined in the crusade to feed families throughout the community.
